In the same boat

Close buddies
Hangin’ out as mates
Usually, when fishing, share their
Marine-born bait.

The Meal Report

Obvious large bits of food
Remain when eyes are bigger
Than stomachs. Insane!

Thanks for the great word, and awareness, Josh M. You and the Nature Bridge staff are AWESOME!

Setting forth

Leaping, uplifted,
And with blind enthusiasm we
Use our energy to
Nurture and serve the kids in our
Coastal community; we’re
Here to soar with AmeriCorps.

We wouldn’t be here without the caring, supportive spirit of Michell G. and Carrie S. A salute to these wonderful women and to our PASD team, Allyson, Amber, Jackie, Kristin√§, Leandra, Michael and me. It’s been a great week!

Follow the track

Listen, then observe
Every impression, for
A path is forming towards
Real comprehension;
Naturally, there is more and more…

It fascinates me that the Old English word leornian, meaning to gain knowledge, to think about, goes back to a sense of finding a track and following it. This comes from the PIE root *leis- (1) “track or furrow.” The related Old English word l√¶st means “sole.” Soles and souls make impressions.

Rope wrangle

Two teams face and with
Unbridled strength try to
Gain ground, pulling their length –
Over their sounds, cheering abounds
From those encouraging all around –
When the center point’s crossed
A side has lost, the other won; for
Recreation, it’s all been fun.
