Tense time?

Forward ticks the minute hand
Until it strikes the hour, then
The day, next month, next year
Using all its power to spin us
Repeatedly around the sun, in
Endless now and yet-to-be.

Thank you, Shirley F. H.

Flexibiity

Flaws and quirks we may
Observe as endearing traits
In loved ones; they might
Bend quite far
Like a fencing foil, but we
Embrace them as they are.

Thank you, John S. G.

Musical meditation

Chanting in reciting tones,
A devotional exercise, from the
Novitiate to
The congregant, all will realize the
Inspiration and soul-
Lightening effects of
Lengthy intonation.
Although the deities may disagree,
The earthly participants bring positive
Energy to the universe when they sing.

Thank you, Rosalind L.

Tapping and patterns

Tap, tap, a-rappa-tap tap
Announces, sadly,
The bar’s last call, but
The intricate patterns
Of skin-inking artists
Offers some solace after all.

Cliché though it may be (suggested by old films that romanticize war), I picture a lonely soldier stumbling back to his barracks, being comforted by the image or name of his girl-back-home on his arm or chest. From the Dutch ‘taptoe’ or Tahitian ‘tatau’ comes this evocative word. Tattooing as an amazing art form dates back to the Neolithic Period.
